British Rowing team prepared for World Championships following successful training camp

<![CDATA[Despite Hurricane Irma causing devastation across Florida and beyond, the 2017 World Rowing Championships have been given the green light to take place as planned this weekend at the Nathan Benderson Park, Sarasota.

A total of 73 British athletes – comprising of 19 crews – have been named in Great Britain’s rowing squad, including 14 Olympians and 2 Paralympic Champions.

The World Championships come at the end of a very good season for GB, who won the World Rowing Cup series by an impressive 26-point margin over rivals New Zealand.

Last month, Andrews Sykes signed a long-term official supplier agreement with British Rowing that would see us provide training facilities with premium cooling equipment until the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics in 2020.

Earlier this summer, a number of our Polar Wind portable air conditioning units were deployed within the women’s team’s Italian training camp in Varese, where seasonal temperatures are known to exceed 30°C.

Our agreement with British Rowing guarantees the provision of climate control equipment to ensure that athletes have the best possible environment to practice in, with no heat-related impairment.

With preparation complete, all eyes will now be on proceedings in Sarasota-Bradenton which commence on Sunday 24 September.

Great Britain enjoyed a very successful Olympic and Paralympic Games last year in Rio – topping the medal table at both events – and the team will be looking to set down a solid foundation towards Tokyo 2020 on American waters.
